Four works that run right here, in the browser, each answering to something
else: hands, stillness, the hour, a face. In the first three nothing is
recorded: camera frames are processed on the page and never sent anywhere.
Engram is the exception, on purpose: it sends one photograph to Claude, once,
and keeps only the words. A laptop with a mouse is enough; a webcam is
optional.
fireflies
2026 · real-time generative work, sound
A night meadow whose fireflies find a common rhythm on their own, after the
synchronous species of Southeast Asia and the Appalachians; the fireflies of
Moldova do not do this. The air is an invisible fluid, moved by your hands
before a camera, by touch or by the cursor. Left alone, the meadow falls
asleep; whoever comes in sees it wake.
a vine's shadow
2026 · real-time generative work
A whitewashed south wall and the shadow of a vine, cast by the sun at its
computed position over Chișinău this very minute; by the moon at night.
Wherever the wall hangs, the shadow keeps Chișinău time. Dragging sideways
moves time. The wind and the share of autumn leaves follow the calendar and
chance, not a measurement.
lichen on limestone
2026 · real-time generative work, optional camera
Lichen on limestone that grows while you keep still and wears away with any
movement — of the cursor, or of your body before the camera. Years of growth
are compressed into minutes. In an empty room it thrives best. The colonies
are remembered on this device.
a memory trace
2026 · real-time work with a language model (Claude), optional camera
A machine looks at you once and describes you. Then it is handed only its
own description and asked to describe you again, from memory; each retelling
sees only the one before. Words fall away, the spiral of light tightens, and
at the end there is a short epitaph for what was lost. The photograph goes to
Claude once and is not kept; the next visitor finds only your words. Without a
photograph, a sentence about yourself will do.
Notes for venues — what each work needs, how long
it runs, kiosk settings and a camera notice for the wall.
