    What this is

A model looks at you once and describes you. Then it is handed only its own description and asked to describe you again, from memory. Each retelling sees only the previous one. The spiral grows one coil per generation; the brighter the coil, the more of the first description it still remembers. When the machine starts repeating itself, the loop has closed.

    Three rules

The machine sees you once, never twice. Each generation sees only the previous one, never the chain. The room keeps the words, never the face: your photograph goes to Claude for the first look and is not stored anywhere on this page.

The four sample sitters are photographs from Unsplash.
